He graduated from Cambridge University. As well as working in the UK, he has worked across the world, including Australia, Japan and the USA.
He has been a NHS consultant surgeon for over 12 years. Importantly, his private practice mirrors his NHS practice and he will only treat patients within his specialist fields.
He is one of the most experienced bariatric surgeons in the UK (see https://nbsr.e-dendrite.com) and he performs over 450 laparoscopic procedures each year.
He is a member of the Patient Safety Committee for the British Obesity and Metabolic Surgery Society. He is a Visiting Professor at the University of Surrey, actively involved in surgical research. He is a recognised national trainer for laparoscopic and bariatric surgery.
Chris is often invited to present and lecture to other healthcare professionals on aspects of laparoscopic and bariatric surgery. He is also frequently invited to appear, or pass comment, as the ’expert’ on a number of TV shows across the BBC, Channel 4 and Sky channels, as well as on the radio and in the national and regional newspapers.
